James joined Mosaic in February of 2006, bringing with him extensive experience and boundless energy. James worked his way up from Meeting Planner, to Senior Program Manager, to Director of Operations, to Vice President and now serves as the company’s CEO. In 2019 James and colleague Taline Tabakian took over both the management and ownership of the company. Immediately following his graduation from Loyola Marymount University he worked for the department of University Relations, helping manage the recruitment, solicitation, and stewardship of the University’s Board of Regents. In addition to these responsibilities, he also planned and coordinated the meetings and events of the Board. Immediately prior to Mosaic, James worked as a Project Leader in the Meeting Services Division of the Insyght Interactive Group where he planned and managed domestic and international pharmaceutical conferences for the industry’s major corporations. He is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and cites travelling as his greatest pleasure; however, his husband argues that his greatest pleasure is making and completing to-do lists. James lives in Oakland with his husband and their two kids.

Taline joined the Mosaic team in 2011. She quickly advanced from Program Manager to Senior Program Manager, where she managed numerous client programs across the globe. Soon after, Taline advanced as Director of Operations managing Mosaic’s planning team. In 2019, Taline became co-owner of Mosaic assuming the role of Chief Operations Officer. Taline has successfully planned inaugural conferences for clients and assisted in the growth of the programs year over year. She loves to explore the creative side of planning and seeing her ideas come to fruition. Prior to joining Mosaic, Taline worked at some of the largest advertising agencies, including, TBWA\Chiat\Day and OMD. Taline’s two biggest passions in life is gathering people together, and the other is traveling the world. She makes it a priority to visit at least one new destination each year.

Michelle is a seasoned meeting planner with more than 40 years of experience. She is responsible for all aspects of meeting coordination for Mosaic clients, and leads the planner team. From site selection to financial reconciliation, Michelle’s expertise and attention to detail are truly invaluable. Prior to first joining Mosaic in 1996, Michelle worked as both an independent and in-house planner for Meetings Plus, the International Council of Shopping Centers, OPTS Events, and Informix, as well as owning her own small planning firm. Michelle is the mother of two grown daughters and is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Public Relations.

Rob Kellett joined Mosaic in July of 2009 as Senior Accountant after proving himself invaluable as a contractor. Prior to coming to Mosaic, Rob worked for PG&E, IBM, and a San Francisco CPA firm. Rob has served on the boards of several local non-profits. Besides his accounting degree, Rob holds a degree in Film Production and often plans his vacations around film festivals. He is also renowned for his 30-second “Sound of Music” performance.

Iain has been working in the audio-visual/event planning industry since 1990, applying his craft in a variety of roles with excellent companies. Starting with San Diego Stage & Lighting, Iain developed an interest in lighting and project management. He moved on to Meeting Services Inc. and for two decades worked in multiple roles that gave him insight into all aspects of creating successful events. Iain joined Mosaic as a Senior Production Manager in 2015. Iain is well versed in High End Systems, Martin, Vari-Light, Color Kinetics, Avo, and Coemar lighting instruments and consoles and is skilled in rigging. He has masters’ training in Vector Works and is highly accomplished at creating CAD designs for productions. Iain is always seeking to grow professionally and he stays abreast of current technology and products in lighting, audio and video industries, providing clients with access to the most cutting edge options in design and technology. Iain has employed strong project management skills in designing, planning, monitoring, and controlling large and small projects and events. Iain’s no-nonsense approach to managing events has made him successful at handling people and resources in every situation. His ability to work through any challenge is often commented on by clients.

Sarah joined the Mosaic team in July 2021. An extrovert at heart, she has spent the past decade building her career in event planning, managing everything from international incentive trips and large-scale conferences to weddings. With a keen eye for detail, infectious enthusiasm, and a positive outlook, Sarah brings energy and expertise to every project.
Outside of work, she loves both meticulously planned and spontaneous travel, any excuse to celebrate with friends, true crime podcasts, and soaking up the sun with a good book and a glass of champagne. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sarah now lives in San Diego with her husband and their two adopted puppies, Marjorie and Bud.

Jennifer joined the Mosaic team in December of 2014, bringing with her an extensive event planning background, endless energy and an infectious laugh. Prior to joining Mosaic, Jennifer spent 8 years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, working as the Director of Meetings and Special Events at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain and The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta (Downtown). She was also part of the opening team for The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage as a consultant in Meetings and Special Events. Additionally, Jennifer spent time at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in events. Prior to working in hotels, Jennifer began her event career in international sports planning as a member of the Goodwill Games Operations Department. This experience launched her professional event planning career. Jennifer notes that her most memorable event to plan and operate was President Bill Clinton’s book signing tour stop in Atlanta. When not immersed in event planning, Jennifer enjoys family adventures with her husband Shaun and son Jack. Their passion for travel, an active, outdoor lifestyle and Jack’s many sports keep life full of love, excitement and laughter!

With over 28 years of experience in the hospitality industry, April Thompson is a seasoned professional who has brought her extensive expertise in luxury hotel management to her role as Senior Program Manager at Mosaic. Before joining Mosaic in 2018, she spent 6 years with the Ritz-Carlton company and was part of the opening team for The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage in California, 3 years at a luxury boutique hotel in Del Mar, California, and before that, she spent 12 years at Robson Communities as a Food and Beverage Manager, where she oversaw daily operations for the 4 restaurants and 3 banquet facilities, and she also is well versed with upscale, private catering. April has made significant contributions to the success of various hospitality groups, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
April’s skill set includes an impeccable attention to detail, organizational excellence, and a strong creative mindset, which allows her to effectively lead teams and innovate within fast-paced, dynamic environments. Her leadership style is defined by optimism, a dedication to continuous learning, and a genuine drive to inspire others to achieve their full potential. Outside of her professional accomplishments, April is an avid cook, enjoys quality time with her daughter and friends, and cherishes the company of her crazy dogs.

Rachel joined the Mosaic team in 2025, bringing with her more than a decade of hospitality experience and a love for creating unforgettable events. Originally from the West Coast, her career has taken her from the luxury setting of The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana to the scenic landscapes of Suncadia Resort in Washington, and eventually to the heart of Chicago’s vibrant event scene with Chicago Social Scene.
As a Program Manager, Rachel blends thoughtful details with personal touches in everything she does. She’s drawn to the human connection that comes with the work and brings energy, creativity, and care to every program she supports. Known for her curiosity, sharp instincts, and collaborative spirit, she’s always working to make each event feel truly special.
Now based in Chicago, Rachel lives with her cat, Baron Burr, a devoted cuddle enthusiast and self-appointed work supervisor. When she’s not planning events, you can usually find her exploring the city, enjoying the outdoors, or adding a little extra sparkle to everyday life.

As Event Coordinator at Mosaic, Reaz oversees a wide range of event functions, including event registration, travel and hotel management, venue coordination, contract negotiations, F&B management, activities, vendor sourcing and signage. His hands-on involvement across these areas ensures that every detail is executed with precision and that each program reflects Mosaic’s standard of excellence.
Prior to joining Mosaic, Reaz built a strong foundation in hospitality and private event management, gaining valuable experience in client relations, operations, and high-profile event execution with Tao Group. His event and hospitality background sharpened his ability to anticipate client needs, solve problems quickly, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Known for his professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to creating meaningful experiences, Reaz brings both organizational rigor and a client-first mindset to every project he touches. He is passionate about transforming ideas into seamless, memorable events that leave a lasting impact.
